Get rid of dandruff naturally at home

Dry scalp is caused by lack of moisture in the skin while dandruff is caused by excess oil in the scalp and overgrowth of Malassezia yeast. Dandruff can be eliminated naturally at home with proven natural methods.

Dandruff may have several causes, including:

1. Oily and irritated skin.

 2. Dry skin.

3. A yeast-like fungus (Malassezia) that feeds on the oils found in the scalp of most adults.

While dandruff and dry scalp tend to come and go, dandruff caused by a fungal infection is unlikely to improve without treatment. However, dry scalp may improve with less frequent shampooing. Both conditions can make the scalp irritated.

Dandruff in itself does not cause hair loss. However, severe dandruff can cause the scalp to become extremely itchy. Repeated inflammation of hair follicles can lead to damage and scarring, or slow or stop hair growth. This can cause weak or thinning hair.

The frequency of shampooing needed to control dandruff varies from person to person. Some need to shampoo twice a week, others more frequently, even daily.

Although dandruff can be embarrassing, it is harmless. This does not mean that you are not clean. It's not contagious: you can't catch it or pass it on to someone else. Dandruff does not directly cause hair loss, but scratching your scalp too much may cause temporary hair loss.

Dandruff affects about half of adults, and males are affected more than females. In addition, people in all regions of the world are affected. Dandruff usually begins at puberty, and becomes less common after the age of 50.

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, using pomade or oil-based products, like Vaseline, can help moisturize your scalp, but it may also aggravate dandruff and make the problem worse. Moreover, if you put Vaseline on your forehead, it may clog your pores and cause pimples.

The combination of bacteria and sweat on your scalp can cause unpleasant odors such as:

1. Fungi: Fungi on your skin can lead to dandruff and a bad scalp odor.

2. Yeast: Too much yeast on your scalp can cause conditions like seborrheic dermatitis as well as a bad odor.

If dandruff-infested hair comes into contact with the forehead or cheek, bacteria may affect that area as well. Bacteria or fungi cause the affected areas to become itchy and irritated and eventually lead to acne.

Stress can trigger or even worsen dandruff in some individuals. Although Malassezia doesn't get to your scalp via stress, it can thrive if your immune system is weak, which is exactly what stress does to your body. Do your scalp a favor and relax. Try walking or exercising.

Ways to treat dandruff

Dandruff cannot be permanently cured, but it can be effectively controlled with proper treatment and hair care habits.

Here are some steps you can take to manage and control dandruff:

1. Use medical shampoo: Use shampoo that contains active ingredients such as ketoconazole, zinc pyrithione, or salicylic acid. For mild dandruff, first try regular cleansing with a gentle shampoo to reduce oil and skin cell buildup. If that doesn't help, try a medicated dandruff shampoo. Some people can tolerate using medicated shampoo two to three times a week, with regular shampooing on other days if necessary.

2. Hot water in itself does not cause dandruff, but it can strip the scalp of its natural oils, leading to dryness and potentially worsening dandruff symptoms. It is recommended to use lukewarm water when washing your hair to prevent excessive dryness of the scalp.

3. It is enough to oil your hair 1-2 times a week. Doing this every day can attract dirt and strip essential oils from your hair. Brushing, rubbing and massaging your hair vigorously with oil can lead to breakage.

4.You can use baby oil as a regular massage oil for your hair or body. It works just as well as coconut or any other oil. Massage your hair and leave it overnight for frizz-free hair, or use it to massage your body to relieve stress.

Essential oils and carrier oils

1.Almond oil soothes and moisturizes the scalp.

2.Cedarwood oil stimulates the scalp and promotes hair growth.

3.Chamomile oil adds shine and softness to the hair, and soothes the scalp.

4. Clary sage oil promotes hair growth and stimulates the scalp.

5. Coconut oil softens the hair and increases its shine.

2.Oils such as tea tree oil, coconut oil, neem oil, olive oil, castor oil, jojoba oil, argan oil, lavender oil, rosemary oil, and peppermint oil can help reduce dandruff by moisturizing and soothing the scalp, while also providing antibacterial properties. Antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties.

3.Baby oil and other mineral oils may be good options for treating scalp problems in babies, such as cradle cap. This scalp irritation resembles dandruff. Massage baby oil into your baby's scalp to help relieve and remove dry, flaky skin. Likewise, baby oil may help prevent and get rid of dandruff in children and adults.

4 Due to the presence of protein, biotin and sulfur in eggs, it fights dandruff and makes your hair strong and shiny. Several studies have shown that egg whites can help remove excess grease and dirt from your scalp by allowing enzymes to work on bacteria.

5. Aloe vera can reduce oil buildup on your scalp, while maintaining a healthy amount of moisture. It limits the growth of dandruff causing microbes and instantly cools any itching. It can also reduce the redness of your scalp due to its anti-inflammatory properties.

6. Dandruff can be effectively eliminated through various methods: using anti-dandruff shampoo that contains active ingredients such as zinc pyrithione or ketoconazole. Wash hair regularly with a gentle shampoo to keep the scalp clean. Control stress levels, as stress can aggravate dandruff.
