Skin and hair care using rice water

Most skin care experts believe that rice water for the face is useful in whitening and brightening the skin because it is a good source of vitamins and antioxidants. This milky white water is also used as a natural, gentle exfoliator to help get rid of dead skin cells and brighten the skin.

The amino acids, antioxidants, and minerals found in rice water may help slow or stop the skin aging process. In addition, it may stop the action of the elastase enzyme that causes skin aging. As a result, rice water may maintain skin elasticity and help hide signs of aging on the skin.

Soaked or boiled rice water stored in a spray bottle can be used directly on your skin. When you decide to spritz the toner or mist, leave it on for 30 minutes and then wash it off with warm water afterwards.

Fermented rice water also helps fade hyperpigmentation and lighten the skin. Rice water is a major skincare trend right now, and we understand why.

How to make rice water at home?

1. Take half a cup of uncooked rice.

2. Rinse it well.

3. Place the rice in a bowl with two or three cups of water.

3. Leave it to soak for 30 minutes.

4. Drain the rice water into a clean bowl.

5. You can boil half a cup of rice for 30-40 minutes, then drain the excess water and store it in a spray bottle in the refrigerator for a week. You can easily spray it on your face for instant freshness, or leave it for half an hour to brighten your skin.

6. Fermented rice water is also good for the skin. To use it, after washing your face with a cleanser, you apply it and rub it on the face with a cotton ball, just as you would a toner. Then use a moisturizer to seal it.

7. Make a skin toner using rice water + half a cup of aloe vera gel + 2 tablespoons of rose water. Mix these three ingredients well and then put them in a clean spray bottle. Also add about half a cup of water. Use it every morning and evening.

8. When using fermented rice water, dilute it first by adding some water. Add it to your face mask for glowing skin. Mix with aloe vera gel to help treat sunburn and reduce tanning if desired. The mixture can also be applied to acne scars.

9. Preparing rice water is simple: All you need is rice, water, a bowl, a strainer, and a spray bottle.

Rice water for acne

Leaving rice water to treat pimples on your face overnight is safe and nourishing. You can wash it the next morning. Mix rice water with natural aloe vera gel to moisturize your skin. It will effectively soothe acne and pimples, leaving the skin soft and supple. Rice water can be stored for up to 24 hours at room temperature and up to a week in the refrigerator. It is recommended to use rice water either on the same day or the next and not more than once a day.

Using rice water is a natural home remedy, but people with certain skin conditions should be careful. Such as eczema or dermatitis.

Rice water for soft skin

1- Put 2-3 tablespoons of rice water in a bowl.

2- Dip a cotton ball in it, then apply the liquid to your face and neck.

3- Leave it for 30 minutes.

4- Moisturize your skin using a regular facial moisturizer.

Rice water for hair

Rice water contains inositol, which has been linked to preventing premature hair thinning and hair loss by strengthening hair at the scalp level while penetrating the hair strand itself, providing essential vitamins, minerals, and amino acids for your hair's strength.

Rice water contains vitamins and minerals that nourish the hair and scalp and may encourage growth.

To prepare it, let about a cup of rice ferment in two to three cups of water for one day. Use it once or twice a week, and you can expect results within a few weeks or months.

How often should you use rice water on hair?

For best results, use rice water on your hair once or twice a week. Rice water can be stored for up to 24 hours at room temperature and for up to a week in the refrigerator. It is recommended to use rice water either on the same day or the next and not more than once a day.

Leave the rice to soak in the bowl for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, filter the rice. Pour water into a spray bottle. Then spray rice water generously on the hair. Do not leave rice water on the hair for longer than 20 minutes, so as not to cause irritation to the scalp. Although the steps for using rice water are not all agreed upon, many people suggest leaving it on your hair for just 20 minutes. Once the 20 minutes are up, you can rinse off the rice water.

How to prepare

1. Pour half a cup of uncooked rice into a strainer.

2. Wash it well with water.

3. Place the rice in a bowl with 2 cups of water.

4. Soak for up to 24 hours at room temperature.

5. Drain the rice water into a clean bowl.

6. Place the rice in a spray bottle and leave it in the refrigerator until ready to use.

7. You can either use rice water as a shampoo or as a final wash. To shampoo, apply rice water diluted with some tap water to damp hair and gently massage the scalp with your fingertips for five minutes. Make sure to wet your hair completely with rice water.

8. Since rice water is high in starch, too much rice water can dry out your hair. Wet your hair with your hair moisturizer for 15-30 minutes, then moisturize your hair and scalp with essential oils.
