Drink Water

Our bodies are made up of pure clear water and it needs plenty of it to survive. Do not worry about fancy drinks or sparkling water, purchase bottles of spring water in the store in glass bottles, if available, and take sips throughout your day. If you prefer tap water, make sure to invest in a water filter before drinking. If you want flavor to add to water, use only fresh fruit, not any artificial flavorings that may contain sugar and your body will need to get rid of it. Some experts suggest that you do not drink gallons of water a day because you could flush vital vitamins and minerals out of your system that your body needs to function properly.

Fruits and Vegetables

Fruits and vegetables contain many vital minerals, fiber, and vitamins to promote healthy heart function and keep your cells hydrated. Remember that moderation is the key to any healthy diet, and regular, small portions of a variety of fruits and vegetables will encourage overall health and well-being.

Papayas, avocados, berries, and oranges are just a few fruit choices that encourage plump smooth skin on your face and body for the natural hydrating effects and improve elasticity of the skin. Avocados also contain healthy fats your body needs to function at its best.

Broccoli, spinach, carrots, sweet potatoes, and red bell peppers are examples of foods with anti-aging properties because of high vitamin C levels.

Make sure your shopping list is low on processed foods found in packages or in the freezer, and shop in the produce and vegetables isles to sample a variety of wonderful food choices that will have anti-aging properties.

Limit Sun Exposure

So, the advice is, to limit sun exposure and not solely rely on using heavy sun protection creams. You do need some sun due to vitamins we naturally get from the sun, such as, vitamin D3, which is naturally produced by sunlight. Vitamin D3 can promote healthy skin, strengthen bones and muscles and improve your mood.

Many women of prior generations scheduled actual sun baths, where they would either sit on the roof of their apartment building, out on a balcony or porch and time themselves to about 15 minutes per day of natural sunlight.

So, stick to limiting daily sun exposure, wear hats, sunglasses, and scarves. If you use sunscreen, use only unscented and noncomedogenic products to prevent blocked pores that may cause breakouts or allergies to the skin. Some makeup formulas contain sunscreen, so don't pile on more sunscreen if you wear makeup with sunscreen already in the product. Make sure to cover up your arms and hands while driving to help prevent sun spots later in life.

Moisturize Your Face and Body

No matter what you age, your face and body need moisture. Even if you have oily skin or combination skin [dry/oily] on your face, your skin needs moisture each day and night. If you wear makeup, it's essential you moisturize your face first and let it dry, then apply makeup. When you remove your makeup, make sure to reapply moisturizer because makeup can be very drying to the skin. Choose creams, lotions or liquid moisturizers that contain no artificial fragrances as they can irritate the skin. If you like a certain scent, purchase the natural essential oil, like rose or lavender, and mix it in with your unscented moisturizer. Natural herbal creams and lotions should not cause irritation to the skin, so read labels carefully.

Exercise

Just as important as diet and hygiene, you must move your body daily. Some experts suggest that anything that jolts your body too much, such as, marathon running or daily jogs for miles around your neighborhood, can wear on the skin and organs of the body. If you are not a professional athlete, then skip these jarring exercises. Stick to low-impact aerobic routines, stretching, yoga, walking, even walk/jog combinations are beneficial. Skin does age due to sun and gravity, so you want to limit any extreme activity.

Horseback riding is a wonderful way to get outdoors and exercise your body. Horseback riding follows the natural movement and structure of your bones and muscles. It also teaches you to trust and bond with an animal and adjust to another living being, as opposed to just walking on a treadmill.

Cosmetic Surgery

Regular visits to a licensed dermatologist is vital for healthy skin and healthy aging. Doctors can detect early stages of cancer or other skin diseases that you should not ignore.

Some procedures are noninvasive, such as, skin laser treatments, skin peels, facials, hair removal procedures, and so forth, that can be highly beneficial to your self confidence.

The advice is, to try and prevent aging rather than rely on a doctor to try and fix damage from the sun or other environmental factors. Practice daily care, eat a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean protein, such as fish, limit dairy consumption, and you should see improvement in your face and body.

Moderation is the key in everything we do. Pay attention each day to what you eat and drink, how you move your body, and feed your mind on positive intentions and take positive action to move forward in your life. It's that steady slow pace that will win the race against aging
